Admissions

Choosing a school for your child is an important decision and we would encourage you to visit our school before making a decision. Please contact the school to arrange an appointment.

St Francis is a Catholic Academy school and our Governing board sets and administers its own admission rules after public consultation.

The Governing Body of St Francis Catholic Primary School is responsible for the admission of children to the school. We ask all parents applying for a place here to respect the ethos of the school and its importance to the school community. This does not affect the right of parents who are not of the faith of the school, to apply for and be considered for a place.

Every academic year, the Governing Body of St Francis Catholic Primary School will admit up to 30 children who will become 5 years of age on or between 1st September  and 31st August.

Applications for admissions into our Reception class must be done on a Common Application Form (CAF) through your local authority.

A Supplementary Information Form (SIF) must also be completed if applying on religious grounds and this should be sent directly to our school, along with a baptismal certificate. RBWM Admissions make offers of school places on behalf of our Governing body.

For In-year Transfer applications, please apply directly to the school. If there are any vacancies, the Governing body will offer places based on our admission arrangements.

Appointments are normally held on a Monday at 11 a.m. and last about half an hour.

You have a legal right to appeal against a decision not to offer your child a place at one or more of your preferred schools, even though yourt child may have a place at another school.

  • Closing date – Tuesday 15 January 2019 MIDDAY.
  • Extended deadline for exceptional circumstances – Wednesday 30 January 2019
  • National Offer Day –  Tuesday 16 April 2019
  • Deadline to respond to a school place offer –  Wednesday 1 May 2019
